Witnessing course altering moments that transform lives of the people close to you is a joy worth searching for, not only for the intended but the unintended as well.
The collaborative art experience was stunning, including heartfelt audio testimony from contributors of the Ma’a Wahine Soundcloud account, speaking about the female experience.
Ma’a Wahine turned out to become a grass root event, bringing laid back old Hawaii-plantation times out of the living room and direct to the club. Families members of the artists brought hula to the stage and the red brick halls of Manifest filled with chilling chants from a lost time long ago.
It was definitely a night to remember. Children of poetry summoned courage and spoke about the difficulties navigating through their experiences. Hawaiian chants, songs, and dance served the people as a reminder of our place in time and location.
