Did you notice a recently alarming number of men with facial hair this past month? The good-looking men of Honolulu were participant brothers in this year Manifest Man Challenge.  A fraternity of 70 men from all different backgrounds each pledged $15 dollars and surrendered their razor blades to their mirror cabinets for a full month, from November 1st to December 1st, all in the name of standing against men’s health issues, namely testicular cancer.

To raise the stakes, this year we added a grip of MAN-ly sponsors such as Montgomery Motors, In4mation, Apartment3, Mojo Barbershop, Hawaii Theatre, TOMS Shoes, JJ Dolans, and Ryan Jacobie Hair Salon to throw down guy swag for the cause.  To increase the broham among the brothers, weekly Frat-Meetings with social lubricants like Captain Morgan and Sierra Nevada Tumbler on special.

The month long challenge concluded on a high note with the fraternity raising  $1400 for the American Cancer Society, an almost %75 increase from last years donation.  A celebration was held and our newest “Best in Show” was announced, supreme finalist George Banks.  Drinks, raffles, live music by Narwhal, and burlyness was to be had by all.  The beautiful Morganettes were present bestowing eye patches on all who attended this wonderful evening and yet, we saved the best for last.  Vacations Hawaii (boydvacationshawaii.com) donated a Las Vegas Package trip for 2 and pledge brother Brendan Fisher, who attended almost every Frat-Meeting, won and will be partying it up on behalf the Man Challenge.  Money was raised, fun had been had, friendships have been brohamd, and the fraternity lives on…do you have what it takes to pledge in 2012?
